Such great characters, dialogue, setting....everything I love in fiction. This guy's one of my all-time favorite authors.

P.S., If you're a Downeaster, you've probably already read Empire Falls, but if you haven't, this should be next on your reading list!

Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos

I had heard of Dr. Peterson before, but I had never really paid much attention until someone on Twitter directed me to this video. I was really impressed with how he handled that overly hostile interviewer, so it caused me to look into him a little more, and I was intrigued by what I saw so I bought his book. The book is excellent and I wish I had had it when I was a lot younger. I've already bought copies for my son and my nephew who are both about to graduate from high school.

Anna Karenina by Tolstoy. Finished War and Peace a few months ago and loved it.

I recently finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. It's quite good, not my favorite by Gaiman, but still quite good. More mystic realism set in suburban/rural England than what you would think of as fantasy.

Just started The Music Shop and am really enjoying it, even if it is similar to Nick Hornby's High Fidelity.
