    Oxford shoes vs Oxford Boots

I'm looking to get another pair of cap toe oxfords, I was on Beckett Simonon looking around and saw the Fonseca boot. What are your thoughts on these vs regular cap toe oxfords? I would be wearing them with a suit, and also a little more dressed down with with chinos/dress slacks. Personally I really like them, but I also really like boots and can't quite tell if I enjoy them simply because they are boots and if regular oxfords would be better. The goal is to be pretty conservative. We also get lots of snow, so the boot might actually be functional, although I'm only ever walking from a car to indoors, so shoes aren't too bad in the winter.

I like the look of them and think they would be find with a suit. If you have the cash lying around and the boots are of interest to you, I say go ahead. Buy and wear them with pride.

I don't know anything about the brand but I like the look/style of the boot with a simple cap toe.

With those clean lines they'd look great with a suit; think Daniel Craig's dress chukkas in Skyfall. Unless you wear ankle wader hems most of the time nobody will be able to tell they're boots, which is to my mind a good guage of whether they're sufficiently formal to stand in for dress shoes. To dress them down, wear thicker or contrasting laces.

I think they are great-looking and would look fine with a suit.
WHY ARE THE GUYS IN SUITS HERE? HAS SOMETHING GONE WRONG?

I love oxford boots, but with a chukka shape? "Fusing two wardrobe staples, the Cap-Toe Oxford and the Chukka Boot," is to me like fusing two culinary staples, roast beef and cherry pie. There's a reason these things are kept apart.

I never really considered oxford boots until I saw these, what are some examples of other oxford boots that you like?

Pricey as hell (or at least, for my budget, true shoe snobs probably disagree) but that's the kind of shape I'm thinking when it comes to an oxford boot.

Or this one, for something more budget friendly. https://www.meermin.es/in_en/1015251...e-burdeos.html

I can't speak for the OP, but I have the AE Stirling and I love them. Got them as 2nds, so I saved a bunch.

AE also has the Hamilton, which appears to be a kind of boot version of the Strand, maybe?

    Barker makes these:

jfitzpatrick offers quite a few in the MTO section and used to stock some:

Can't say I'd wear those with a suit in the summer, but in cooler weather? Absolutely appropriate, I see no issue. If you like them, get them.
