    Interesting observation, JB.

A couple of things for me. One, I do wear only medium and high rise trousers. That does make the end of the tie more likely to slip past the buckle.

Two, and more important, I have a made-up rule that applies to dressier or more formal situations, i.e., those that mean you're wearing a jacket and tie: All cinches, closures, and adjusters are invisible when standing.

One closure, of course, are the buttons of a shirt. Another is the belt buckle. So the tie serves the purpose of hiding these closures--the buttons and the belt.

However, I don't "sweat" where exactly the end of the tie falls as long as it at least partially covers the buckle. Sometimes this is midpoint, sometimes farther. It can never be above the buckle! The reason I don't sweat it too much is that I'd rather give more attention to how the knot looks, and that can affect where the end of the tie is, of course.

Not sure the look you're going for, but in my eyes, the jeans look too tight. I do like the overall look though.

They don't strike me as too tight, though they certainly don't look like a "relaxed fit" or something similar. I think a fairly close fit is actually appropriate for that type of look. Also, as I recall, @LesserBlackDog is a bit of a quadzilla, so that may just be the way jeans always look on him.
