Respectfully, I disagree. I think there is too much dissonance between formal (suit, black captoes, and tv-folded white square) and casual (the knit tie and chambray (?) shirt). Fit looks excellent as always, @JDI, but I think a poplin and different tie--a neat or a grenadine--would elevate this. YMMV.

@vespertiliovir - $20 pants with $20 in tailoring = some of my favorite pants. May send these to Luxire at some point to have copied in other fabrics.

You should! I have two pairs of Luxire pants. The fit isn't quite perfect, but the quality of fabric--even on their lower-end stuff--is awesome. Toss in the fact that you can get everything made exactly the way you want it, and I don't know that I"ll ever get dress pants from anyone else ever again.

    Express cotton cardigan
    JAB ecru OCBD
    LLB wine/burgundy khakis
    AE black shoes

Any recommendations for more fall rigs with the pants?

I have been looking for a cardigan that can work in a shirt/tie/sport coat kind of environment. I was thinking some sort of wool but other than that I am lost. Any recommendations as you seem to wear a lot of cardigans. Brands you suggest or ones to steer clear from?

This shirt is on the chopping block. Fits well but terrible collar.

    Shirt/loafers: Hugo Boss
    Tie: Lands End wool
    Jacket: Bruce Field
    Pants: BR

The BR merino wool cardigans are a nice layering piece without being too thick or breaking the bank. Uniqlo actually had very affordable linen cardigans that I missed out on during the summer which peaked my interested. I regret not jumping on a few just for variety.

I am actually a big fan of Club Monaco cardigans in both wool and cashmere. The cashmere one I have does pile a little bit, but it is ubersoft and uber warm.

If you have the expendable cash, I would highly recommend checking out Brooks Brothers (not Red Fleece line), J Press, and O'Connell. Going with a tie, you can always go with a solid color. Like sweaters, I do love that you can get different textures and fabrics. Honestly, I think you just need to play around and don't mind the Mr. Rogers jokes that will come your way when you first wear one.
