I know, but most of these socks are designed for sizes 9-11 and I have a 9 so it's either show a bit of heel or have it bunched up under my feet.

Are those Happy Socks, Vicious? I have a few pair that look just like those. I noticed the heel showing on mine too the other day, but that particular pair were brand new, and I expect them to shrink a bit. I wear an 11.5 in most shoes, so the socks are not oversized for me.

Is it really a style no-no to have that heel square showing? I never knew that. Seems like a little peeking out wouldn't be so bad; kinda nice to show a little of the color accent, actually. No? Or no.

Additionally, great employment of black shoes, IMO. Many folks advise against them, but they certainly have their place. Like right there. They are black, right? If that's the ones I saw the other day, out shopping, they have that orange-ish detailing in the threads, right?

Oh, I understand that (but don't know why they are a no, some of them do indeed look nice). But I'm working on improving my style on a budget, and this is what I have right now.

Yoyorobbo - yes those are happy socks and yes that is the black mctavish with brownish stitching. I agree that black shoes come in handy once in a while.
