They came back with $75. Still a good price, but I'm in the fence.

Do it. I put in a fake offer an hour or two ago $5 below yours to add legitimacy to your offer!

Ha! Well I'm going to sleep on it and decide in the morning. I can't imagine someone buying them out from under me tonight.

Pretty great deal on some NIB Alfred Sargent Ramsey double monks, UK 8, 9, & 9.5 left, $464:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-Alfred-S...item2a388215d0

These are currently £393.00 from A Fine Pair of Shoes so $464 is a pretty great price. Seller is NAMOR from SF so he should be cool. For AS, US sizing is UK +1, so a UK 8 = US 9.

Heads-up on some nice, new Ralph Lauren boots if you're a 11.5 or 12. They're about 40% off of original retail.

    Here's the original listing.

So I started with a $60 offer. They came back asking for $75. I let that counteroffer expire and came back with $50. I'm such a jerk...

Did they respond to the $50, other than just flat declining it? Jeez, if someone did that to me not only I wouldn't respond, I'd probably block them from bidding, figuring they'd flake out on paying anyway. Just saying ...

They haven't responded yet. While it may be insulting to offer $50, it wasn't meant that way.

Truth be told, between the time I made the $60 offer and the $50 offer, I was forced to buy gloves, a hat, and a black tie for an outdoor funeral in single digit weather. The month has just started, but my budget is nearly spent. I was on the fence when they came back with $75, but that was before this news. Had I paid the $75, I would have gone over budget. That's how close it was.

I guess I could have not made another offer, at all, but I wanted to try one more time with the budget I have left. I almost didn't. It's all a misfortunate series of events for both sides. I say, "I'm a jerk," but it's a light-hearted commentary on an otherwise unlight-hearted situation.

He actually just countered at $70. I declined and told him that his offer was very fair, but that I just couldn't afford it and that I didn't want to drag it out. I told him that someone would pay that amount and wished him good luck.
