About cargo pants, I used to wear cargo khakis in high school and I thought of them as my dressier pants. Really though, cargo pants/shorts are strictly work/leisurewear
I had this punk rock mixed with Limp Bizkit phase. They started as khaki cargo pants in the winter with black shirts and a red NY Yankees hat then in the summer they would get turned into cargo shorts. and band tshirts.

Confession: until I got my style game together, I wore black square toed slip on "dress" shoes with everything, including suits and tan chinos.

I helped my wife coordinate (her business) a wedding this past weekend. Among the highlights of dress was a gentleman wearing cargo pants, black shoes, purple satin type shirt, black tie, and navy blue blazer.
@Hebrew Barrister ... oh the things I wore about 15 years ago to work I'd dread now a days. I remember wearing those shoes in brown. My dad always did so I thought that was dressed up.

Some years ago I used to wear Merrill sneakers everywhere and with everything. They were so ugly but they were comfortable. Fortunately I came to my senses at some point bought some decent footwear.

Joe has some tribal tatts. I can't still can't get 311 out of my mind. I think it's a little hard to not got out of the 90's with some kind of legitimate damage of peak bro culture.

Oh, this starts off very well. I wish I had more time to read the entire story.

anytime I see someone wearing a somewhat tactical looking bag with only one shoulder strap on I am like "that buy aint ready for the shit". As I burn my lip sipping my praline brulee latte and pick out which knife I need to order to match my latest watch strap. Love it when my dapperred tendencies bleed over to other hobbies lol.

my tacticool range bag did double duty as my dad-bag when my daughter was a baby. lots of pockets and interior dividers, less embarrassing than some pink thing. but yes, it only has one shoulder strap.

range bag gets a pass. its not meant for field work per se. again, totally silly argument because almost all of them just haul around laptops and granola bars. I HATED diaper bags because of the design and the way they always fell off your shoulder at the worst time. I always tossed stuff in a backpack. That was before the current backpack and crossbody craze. I was a trendsetter.
