    Leather Duffel Recommendation

I'm looking for recommendations for a relatively inexpensive ($250 or less) leather duffel of decent quality (meaning the zippers work and the hardware stays intact) I can use as a small carry on for plane travel. Something less then 10" in depth so I don't have to gate check it on small regional jets.

    Thanks.

ALL JOKING ASIDE, for $250 you can't get one that's made out of top shelf leather, but you should be able to find one that will stay in one piece.

    this is my recommendation

You're going to be pretty hard pressed to find even a decent quality leather bag for $250 at retail. Most available at that price point are going to have really low quality materials.

If you need it to be leather, your best bet is going to be finding a NWT bag from a non-retailer on eBay, Grailed, Dappered, Styleforum, etc. Something like this could work: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-F...4AAOSwVcFXOq55

If the $250 price point is more important than being all leather, I'd recommend a bag like this Filson Twill duffle (with leather straps). They're incredibly durable and will look as nice or nicer than any leather bag retailing near this price: https://www.sierra.com/filson-rugged...ng=s~filson%2F

Check out WP Standard. Slightly above the $250 range at full price but once in a while they have promo codes for 15-20% off

The LLBean bag above is a great option that fits your price point. Another option is something from Gustin for $129: https://www.weargustin.com/store/bag...el-waxed-brown. Of course you'll have to wait for it (looks like shipping Oct/Nov). It's waxed canvas with brown Horween leather. I picked up one of their leather briefcases a few months ago (I think for $250) and that thing is beautiful and sturdy as heck, thick YKK zippers etc. They also have nice leather weekenders that come up for campaign but they'r usually a pretty penny @ $500.

I think everyone's right, $250 is a tough pricepoint for a leather bag. I would find a really nice canvas duffel in the meantime, keep the balance of the $250 and continue saving for a leather bag.

Would highly recommend this. Significantly more durable than I thought it would be and you can’t beat the price.
