    Can this be tailored?

My apologies if this is a dumb question but I recently bought a Jcrew Chore Jacket and as others on the Jcrew site have commented, it is slightly big, especially around the waist. I was wondering if it could be tailored.

Looking at the photos I can't see any seams along the body (though I'd be shocked if the body were one piece). That would make it quite difficult to tailor, as the standard method is to open up the seams and take them in.

Everything can be tailored, it's just a matter of how much it will cost and how it will look afterwards. Darts in wool tend to be pretty obvious and create uncomfortable pressure points. Cutting in new seams would be expensive, since the tailor would have to bind the edges to prevent unravelling.

That said, only only a few reviews mentions the fit, but more than half deride the quality for excessive shedding, pilling and wear. If I were to spend that much on tailoring, I'd prefer to do so on a garment with an expectation of longevity.

It sure doesn't look like it. But bring it to a good tailor and ask.

If you recently purchased it, maybe exchange it for a smaller size?
Intentionally overdressed for almost every occasion.

I did recently purchased it but I bought a medium and the only sizes available are Medium at the moment.

I mean, the sizing is not terrible. It could be taken in on the sides.

I just returned one of these to J. Crew today. It pilled up like crazy after a single wear.
