Boots that lace on the inside?

I'm sure we've seen boots with zippers on the inside of the leg. But I've never seen ones that lace up like that (at least not for men). I'd think it'd be an interesting look, getting that extra clean design for both front and sides, but I've never seen it happen.

Has anyone else run into anything like that, or is there some reason it doesn't work that I can't think of?

Here are the two I can think of. The black one is Edward Green and the tan one is Enzo Bonafe.

But those seem to lace on the outside. I guess they wanted to use the lacing as decoration rather than something purely functional?

Lacing on the inside wouldn't work with speedhooks -- you'd end up scratching/gouging your boots quickly that way. Maybe it could work with eyelets, but I've never seen a pair of boots like that before.
