Just picked up the g9 from Nordstrom. Hopefully it's not too old man for this 30 something dude.

Thanks, Dave. It's pretty plain, but it goes with just about anything. I just like the straight lines and it is really affordable.

Regarding the Harrington being old man style, I believe it depends on how you look and how you style it. It's really just a bomber with a stand-up collar, and seems easy enough to dress up or down.

You can look smart with an OCBD, cardigan, trousers, and leather shoes, or go preppy with a polo, light colored chinos, and boat shoes/drivers, or rugged with a henley, jeans, and chukkas, or go for a sporty/young look with a t-shirt and hoodie layered under the jacket, joggers, and sneakers.

Below are some guys of our generation sporting it:

LOL @ you picking guys who can wear anything and look good. Elastic waist and cuffs look old fartish imo and are super uncomfortable. The only good one is Bond and he is wearing the G4 Harrington, which is the modern version, and guess what? no old man elastic waist or cuffs.

and $390.00 retail for a bomber is laughable

My harrington is from Marks and Spencer, doesn't have an elastic waist either, and doesn't cost as much. I'm guessing if you look so old with a harrington then wearing a bomber with a turn-down collar won't make you look much younger (Walter White or Mike look), unless you look young, have a good build, and wear the jacket trim/not loose, in which case you'd probably look good with the harrington too. I also have a turn-down collar bomber in light gray as an alternate spring jacket to my navy harrington.

I have a Ben Sherman Harrington I bought for less than $50 Canadian. I thought it was navy in the store but it ended up being "grape". I like it, though.

I tend to prefer the elastic vs straight. I'm just hoping it's not too billowy and a bit more slim. I've read the newer versions within rhe last couple years are a bit more slim

I think the main criticism with the elastic on the G9 is that it slims in the wrong spot and creates a billow above. Whereas the G4, and similarly the Barbour Chelsea Flyweight I linked to, use adjusters at the waist several inches above the hem to provide a slimming effect if needed. Body type is probably going to be the driving factor on this. For me the G4 style is more flattering. If I was a true slim fit the G9 would probably look good as well.
