Your dress shoe lace - how do you do it?

I've been thinking about this, now that I just got new laces to replace my old ones that weren't staying on tight.

All this time, I have always tied my shoes, casual or dress, criss cross lacing, and didn't think of it.
This time, I tried straight bar lacing, and hid the shoe laces, and I think it looks much neater and clutter-free.

How do you guys tie your dress shoe laces?

Same as above for the most part. Formal shoes get bar lacing, casual shoes get criss cross lacing, with some exceptions like oxford boots (bar lacing for eyelets and criss cross for speed hooks) and CPs (bar lacing)

Typically- bar for dress shoes- criss cross for boots.

But- I’ve done some other lacing patterns for fun or for necessity- (if stock laces are too long or even too short).

Currently on a pair of casual grey wingtips I have zipper lacing.

Found a cool website for it.

X-cross for everything. I hate bar lacing.

I tried bar lacing a while back and didn't like it. I do criss-cross on all my shoes.

Same. I liked the look on my dressier shoes, but they didn't wear as comfortable.

My issue is that they do not stay tied as tightly. So I started tying all my bar-laced shoes with double knots, and I haven't had the problem since.

I do as others have said -- bar lacing on dress shoes, X lacing on casual shoes. But the only casual shoes I have with laces are a beat up pair of Thursday boots and my running shoes. The rest are loafers and cowboy boots.
