Here they are on the wrist. They both look...fine proportion wise?

They also make a Speedy reduced which usually can be found even cheaper in the second hand market if you think the regular Speedy may be too big for you. It's always hard to tell from pics as the angle and distance of the pic distorts everything. That's something you need to decide for yourself.

Based on these pictures alone, the proportions of the racing model suit your wrist better in my opinion. However, wide focal length camera lenses (like on a smart phone) tend to distort proportions a bit, making things that are closer to the camera appear bigger than they are.

Btw - that watch on the right is not the Speedmaster Professional, but rather the Speedmaster "First Omega in Space" edition which is smaller than the Professional version (40mm vs. 42mm).

I recently bought the Speedmaster Reduced that Vicious49 mentioned on the 2nd hand market. It's about 38mm and suits my small wrist well.

Ah good call out. Thanks for the info. The watchees to me look fine and I'm wearing a 39mm already so any of the updates will seem a bit bigger. I think I'm going to go with the Speedy Pro from my friend's dealer but if that falls through then the Racing from Jomashop. Either way, excited to join the ranks of Omega holders.

You realize the Speedmaster on the right is not the Professional you asked about but a FOIS, right? It's a different watch than the original Speedmaster Professional.

I could have sworn someone around these parts posted a great review/comment on the different speedy's...If I could find the post I would share it. I had all that jazz when I was looking to purchase my watch. But after making the leap I cleaned browser house - so to speak.

On vacation so I'll have to dig a bit once back, but they weren't terribly pricey. The gator is embossed, which is fine by me because I am more trying the look out than wanting to buy an Omega official or something similarly pricey.
