Yeah, that works for me. In fact, I have one myself (long-sleeved), and that's pretty much how I wear it, with the sleeves rolled up part way.

Is this coincidence or these retailers have curriculum they follow?

Sticking with the Henley comparison, I think they kinda work as part of a farmer style. Although few could pull that off.

The band collar seems to be more in fashion in Europe, but also in a causal way.

Didn't everyone come out with banded collars a couple of summer ago? I didn't really ever like them, but the photos on this thread show me that they are not a bad casual option, and maybe one of the new button up shirts that I think works better as a short sleeve.

I dont really like them, although some of those pics look ok. I just would buy many other items before spending dollars on one.

i think i like those about as much as i like those sweatpants-legged chinos they were trying to push last year.

and that is to say "not one bit".

I think my dad really likes these actually, i should let him know he's been unhip so long he's cool again. He will get a chuckle out of that, and then go back to listening to white guy dad-blues CD's on his CD boom box. Probably while wearing socks and thong flip-flops, with the sock stuck between the toes all like gross and stuff?

Not coincidence, or curriculum, but rather having to keep up with the competitors. A brand won't build a new line around a fad like this, but they'll offer a few new pieces to cover all their bases. If J Crew and Uniqlo have their band collar shirts, BR will have to keep pace, if only to offer a couple options.

Was going to say the same. Trend firms track things like Kinfolk magazine which has been showing weird collars as industrial workwear like this https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...6406a0079e.jpg

Proper Cloth is showing banded collars too. I started thinking it could be cool in a dark seersucker or something? But it does remind me of when I was asked to wear them working at the Gap in the 90's.
