    Which Dress Boots?

Which dress boots are the most versatile and will go best with jeans, khaki, pants. I am looking for something that doesn't have a work boot look.

(Brown option for each boot, take laces into consideration, and I don't want somethign dry or too oily)

I think the Meermin option is the nicest looking. It is fully lined with shearing, though, so only appropriate for cold weather wear.

What one would you pick for fall/winter/early spring?

Options 1 and 3 seem a bit more dressy than two. She shine on 3 might come off a bit too sleek for jeans. All my humble opinion of course ha. That said, I prefer dress boots to shoes 90% of the time.
Are 1 and 2 goodyear welted? Also have you checked out Thursday Boot Co. I've heard some good things. GYW and made in USA at very reasonable price points. Happy hunting!

#2. I don't love Frye boots for some reason but these seem fine. The partial rubber sole should help with durability in wet weather as well. I don't know how these are constructed which may be a factor if you want to eventually resole.

My vote goes for #2. I too am not a big fan of Frye boots. I've owned on pair thus far (not the ones here) and ended up selling them at a loss just to get some space in my closet. Anyway. I think the second pair of boots look the best and should meet your needs/concerns.

I'm going to second Thursday. I have a pair of their chukkas, but I'm planning to pick up a pair of their diplomats in the near future. The president boots look slick, and meet your profile needs, but are only $200 rather than $250.

I like thursday boot company a lot, however, the color choices they have are either purple/brown or light tan. If they made a original red/brown leather boot (not their 450$ pair), I would buy it in a heartbeat.

The Meermin certainly looks the best, but I'm one to veer towards a dressier looking option generally. The Frye boots look vey casual, which is fine with jeans and chinos, but I don't consider them dress boots by any means. The Meermin boot would still work with jeans and chinos while also working with slightly dressier trousers. I like that added versatility, plus they will look better than most average boots you see other guys wearing. To me a "dress boot" is one that I would perhaps consider even wearing with a suit. Something like this.

I'd say that's more red/brown than purple/brown (burgundy?), but it's your dollar to spend.
