    New summer jacket advice

I'm looking at getting a new summer jacket soon, most likely from SS. I'm thinking that I want a linen or linen blend jacket. Ideally something that is versatile so that I'm not stuck being able to wear it with only one pair of trousers. And I'm fairly light skinned with light brown/gray hair so I have to consider that as well.

    Thoughts on these?

I'm not crazy about the pattern, but a wool, linen and silk blend holds its shape much better than pure linen.

My wool, silk, linen jacket from SuitSupply is great as it does not wrinkle nearly as much as my 100% linen jacket. It is tough to pick a color without knowing what pants you may wear with it.

Will this be your only summer jacket? If not what do you already have? I like that blue check a lot, and as already mentioned the wool, linen and silk blend is great (unless of course you are going for the more casual wrinkly linen look). The colors and pattern seem like they would be pretty easy to match with a wide variety of shirts and trouser combos, although if versatility is your priority I would prefer no pattern.

My second choice would probably be the light brown Havana. Seems like a great workhorse summer jacket, but I think if they had a mid brown or darker one it would make it a little more versitle.

I find grey jackets to be way less versitle than it seems like they should be, a lot of this could be because I wear grey trousers a lot (at least half the dress trousers i wear to work are some shade of grey). If you rarely wear grey though and those jackets seem like they would go well with most of your wardrobe they could be a great choice for you

I would recommend brown if you want the most versatility. It can be worn with most color trousers (navy, grey, tan, jeans, etc) and it would most likely compliment your skin tone. I just thrifted a 25% silk, 75% linen suitsupply brown herringbone havana off of eBay. It goes with everything but my brown trousers. I was also impressed that it was barely wrinkled after being shoved in an envelope for shipping. I was expecting more wrinkles with such a high linen content. Some of the pre-order SuSu jackets would fit the bill...

Great recommendations! After Navy I find brown to be by far the most versitle color for a jacket.

Thanks! I work in a business casual environment and have several pairs of blue or navy trousers. While I will always have my navy sportcoat, I find the brown truly more versatile for my needs. I only own 1 pair of brown pants.

Thanks for all the thoughts. This will be my only summer jacket. Ideally I'd be able to wear it with some off-white linen trousers, white Bonobos travel jeans, or navy summer-weight chinos. I do like the blue check one and like the suggestion of a brown one. Someone mentioned a darker one. Would this be better than the light brown?

And since I'm in Atlanta, summer means about half the year.
