    Waxed cotton peacoat: opinions?

I am thinking of picking up a waxed cotton peacoat (http://i.imgur.com/ycsZYci.jpg) in lieu of a trench or mac for spring and fall showers. I don't see them all that often, so I was worried that it is an ugly stepsister to the latter two coats. Thoughts?

If it were similar in length to a trench or mac I think it would look fine. I am more of an umbrella person.

As long as it covers your jacket, the basic construction is similar to a trench minus the gun flap and belt. Who makes the one you have pictured?

Not a bad looking jacket. If it will keep you dry and cover what you're wearing on the day of the rain storm, go for it.

Looks fine to me. No rule that says only trench/mac coats can be worn in rainy weather.

Depends on what you're wearing underneath.
