    Dark gray sport coat

I recently bought a gray brooks brothers sport coat off ebay. On the listing it looked like a light shade of gray and I would have been able to find plenty of things to wear with it. But it turns out the sport coat is a dark charcoal gray and now I'm not really sure what to wear it with, neither for the office nor for casual wear.

For casual wear maybe I'd wear it with gingham shirt, dark jeans or khaki chinos, and some dark brown shoes. But for the office im especially stumped. What color pants should I wear it with?

    Thanks

Almost anything other than dark gray will work with those. In the office, very light gray slacks or a light brown or even light blue chinos (which would be a bit "loud."

Blue that's not quite navy, noticably lighter grey, brown, tan, even some louder colors like burgundy.

I know you can go grey trousers with navy blazer/sport coat. Maybe try the reverse? I've also seen some people try black trousers, but I'm personally not a fan. Dark grey sport coat often seems like it's an orphaned suit, so it's hard to match separately.

I would personally sell it or dedicate it to evening dinners with nice denim or something.

From previous discussions of gray SCs:

How dark is it? would you say it is charcoal?

Anyway, I agree that pretty much anything can go with it.
