Help me pick a tie color

    Hi,

I'm a wee bit color blind (Protanomaly, or red weakness). I bought two ties that are both labeled as burgundy, but somebody pointed out to me that they are different colors. Which do you think goes better with my blazer (photo 1a and 1b) and suit (photo 2a and 2b).

Please note that I already have an appointment with a tailor to shorten the sleeves and hem my pants. Also, I don't expect to wear the blazer with those pants. I just got lazy and didn't want to change before trying on the blazer.

They are both nice, but I personally prefer darker reds in a tie.

a is almost purple, b is very red. the very red one comes off as very businessy, "power tie" if you will

the darker burgundy compliments the light blue short a lot better imo. agree with fey, the bright red one is more of a power tie

I'm torn. The burgundy is more versatile but the crimson has a nice pop to it.......versatility wins I guess.

First one is more burgundy, second I would call red.

Personally I love burgundy because of how versatile it is. Looks great with a blue shirt and navy suit, but really goes with any color suit. Gray trousers and dark green shirt, white shirt and brown chinos... Basically just stay away from purple or black or charcoal shirts or it looks too muted, IMO.

Red is is great too though, just a little more noticeable which really is your taste in what you prefer. Can work better with those darker shirts like navy.
