    Gum Sole Sneaker recommendations

    All,

I need a pair of white sneakers with the brown gum soles. I have these on order from Suit Supply, but donít really want to pay $180 for them. Any thoughts? Need them to go with white jeans and a sport coat.

I struggle to fathom a scenario where you would *need* to wear white gum sole sneakers with white jeans and a sport coat.

In any case, Adidas Sambas are my go-to gum sole sneaker.

J.Crew sells a New Balance sneaker similar to that SS one.

I love my Greats Royales with gum soles. They're still pricey but the code ROOKIEG should get you 10% off. If not then you can always find a code floating around for new customers. Also those JCrew New Balance sneakers LesserBlackDog mentioned are also a decent substitute.

Iíve been happy with these. Unfortunately, this is only helpful if you wear size 10 :/

Sambas are the correct answer for the look that you're going for. Maybe if you can find some white converse with gum soles.

I cannot recommend that NB pair from JCrew. The inner liner is fabric and will tear pretty quickly.
Personally, my next pair will be from Kent Wang.

I had a problem with my white Sambas v. The standard black Sambas. I donít knowing the footbed is different but the arch seemed much higher and hurt my feet to the point of it wearing them. No issue with my black pair or the replacement. I currently have 4 pair of Addidas, so I donít think itís a brand issue.

Interestingly the high arch is mentioned in several of the reviews along with how to fix it. Apparently there's a small foam insert attached to the insole under the arch. You can pull out the insole and pry off the insert with your fingers. It's only loosely attached and designed to be removable.

And I will add the Puma Super Liga as another gum sole sneaker option.
