    they're onsale right now @ 50% off.
Doesn't that suit get below $200? It's $218 with the "50% off" deal.

    Hey everyone,

I'm new here, but have lurked a bit.

Here's my situation: in the spring of 2013, I purchased two suits from Men's Warehouse. Since then I've dropped 40 pounds. These suits no longer fit. I went to MW last night, and they told me that ballpark it would be about $170 for each for alterations. The suits aren't that great, but they're my suits.

My concern is thus: I plan on continuing my gym and diet habit, and running another marathon next year where I will inevitably drop more weight.

    What's the best method for:
    1) Having a good, functional suit now ?
    2) Not having this same problem a year from now?

    Thanks so much.

Do you wear a suit daily for work? If so, I would go to JAB/JCF/BR and grab a cheap, slim fitting, all wool suit or two in the low 200's range. Mid grey and navy would be my picks for color. If not, then I would wait it out a bit and see where you end up settling at.

I would get a second opinion on the alterations. MW is likely just trying to get you to buy another suit from them or just ripping you off; it's like taking your car to the dealership for new brakes. They probably only need to take in the sides which is a $50 alt max.
I had JAB say they can't take in a overcoat I bought from them. I took it to my dry cleaners and $50 later I have beautifully fitting coat. Generally speaking and based on my experience, the sales people at JAB and MW are not credible.

This is my first post here.

What are your thoughts on this sport coat? Is it versatile? I'm not sure what type of bottoms I would wear with it other than jeans. I have a gift card so I'm wondering if I should wait.

I like it, assuming it fits correctly. It would look good with navy wool slacks and brown shoes.

If someone's eyeing the Thompson and is a 38R, I have one listed for sale for $160 right now. You won't come close to that price new, and this has been worn like 3 times. Have no idea why it hasn't sold but I'm about to jack the price back up to $180 so get on it. If you're not a 38R yes, this is the time to buy the Thompson new. It dropped to this same price for Black Friday and I haven't seen it this close to $200 in 2 years, as jackbauer24 said. It usually hovers around 280-300, but it's a $200 suit when you look at the materials and construction.
