Aside from their "fit", what makes this suit any better than say, a $250 all wool suit from JCP?

They're apparently half canvased rather than fused.

Thanks, that's exactly right, the half-canvassed vs fused is one of the key differences. The overall construction is also higher, with little details like the armpit pads on the insider for sweat, to some of the stretch built into the waist lining.

Probably the biggest difference is our suits are custom so the fit will be dramatically better. Our suits are a modern slim fit, so it's more masculine and flattering.

Hope that's helpful! Sorry that it took a while to get back to you!

I really fancy that Tweed suit - my main concern about made to measure is my experience has been that I can send the same measurements to 2 different companies and one can nail it and the other totally screw it up. For instance with shirts when I measured my chest one company cut the shirt to the measurement I sent at it was unwearably tight.

I am interested to see how others make out as thus far the online MTM experience for me has been a disaster.

That's terrible, sorry to hear MTM has been a disaster. It can feel like a shot in the dark sometimes. Assuming the customers measurements are solid, it comes down to craftsmanship and experience. Our tailors have been doing this for a really long time, we're pretty proud of how they translate measurements into the suit.

Love the Heath Tweed. Really standout suit, makes a classy statement.

@suitable can you do measurements off of an existing suit as an option?

It's not part of our standard process, but we can absolutely do that for you.
