Introducing .Bk, unique & affordable limited edition menswear.

    Hi all,
I'm Teg, founder of .Bk (#dotbk). We're making accessible, unique menswear rooted in a time and a place, to bring back the feeling of a local boutique in a digital setting. Because everyone has their own personal style, and they shouldn't have to share it with thousands of people. Most of all, we're doing it affordably -- $72 retail. It's discounted up to 30% on Kickstarter, and I'll be offering 15% off to new customers once the site's up (late-March). I'll also make dappered a coupon for 20% off instead.

My family's been in the fashion industry since 1979, back when it wasn't dominated by a dozen mass retailers. To survive, we adapted by producing small and big orders 3 times faster than our competitors (who are also our customers). Now, as the industry continues to get tougher, we're adapting by going digital. Feel free to ask me anything about the industry if you have questions.

Our launch collection, "The Start-Up CEO", includes ten premium button-down shirts at run of 100 each. Every shirt comes hand-numbered (e.g. 3/100). On our blog, we're not telling you how to dress; we're telling stories of the unique people that inspired us.

TL;DRI've spent the past few weeks browsing the forum, and I think you're the perfect community to introduce this to. You can check out our animated Kickstarter video & launch collection here. We're about to reach our goal and start production, which means the shirts will ship by early-April.

I'd love to get your feedback and field any questions/suggestions on design, future collections and the whole concept for .Bk.

Quick update: We reached 100%! We've got a week left in the campaign. We set a stretch goal of $15,000, which means two more colors of a super unique flecked herringbone button-down. Would love to discuss!

Why the teeny tiny collars? I can't imagine I could wear a tie with that, so these would strictly be casual shirts. For a casual OCBD I really like a shirt with a pronounced collar roll. Isn't that one of the defining features of a quality OCBD? For new OCBD shirts, I like Kamakura's collars, but there are plenty of other images out there of good OCBDs. Just wondering why you are making the collars so small.

    Hey Fred!
You're right -- it is a casual shirt, but not strictly. We've got a 2 1/2" collar point, similar to that of J. Crew & Uniqlo (there was a typo on the Kickstarter). It definitely works well with a tie.

As for why -- we're going for a specific modern, casual look, not the vintage classic. That's our whole ethos: unlike other Brooklyn brands, there's no Ebbetts field cap & no varsity jacket. It's about the 21st century, hence the name .Bk, and the capsule collection story "The Start-Up CEO". For me as designer, the concept for the Contrast Pocket OCBD, the Start-Up Stripe & the Flecked Herringbone Cloth Button Down were to spin off the classic OCBD in three new, different ways.

Most of all, thanks for a great question & feedback. I've been playing around with the collar roll a lot over the past 6 months, and it's something that I'll continue to make better. It helps to get valuable, knowledgeable feedback like this to make our products the best they can be.

Oof, seems I can't edit my last post anymore. Here's a good photo of our collar on our most recent sampling. Hope it helps!
