    Combatant Gentleman

Anyone have any experience with this company? Prices are good with free shipping and returns.

    My thinking:
How many hours does it take to "make a suit"?
How much do each of those hours cost?
How much of the fixed costs need to paid for by each suit?
How much does the basic fabric for a suit cost? Esp. "only the finest materials"
How much does shipping and logistics cost?
My gut says that for something worthwhile those numbers are greater than $160.

Same for a $16 "handmade" silk tie.

I kind of agree with APS -- I've seen their ads on facebook and read through their site. At least when I did that, nothing was there to tell me that it wasn't anything but very cheap materials, likely cheaply fused, etc. Other than everything being the "finest", etc., there's no actual word on anything related to the construction of the suits or anything verifiable regarding the materials.

The photo of the proprietors on the website does not instill a high degree of confidence. Also, I'm not a fan of the brand name "Combatant Gentleman." It sounds like a weird translation, like they pulled it from the lyrics to "Street Fighting Man" translated into Latvian and then back into English or something.

    Shomas, that's hilarious!

I can't pass judgement on their products, but I'm always skeptical with a new company when I can quickly spot numerous typos in their marketing material. I feel like if this is what you are representing to the world, than your attention to detail and quality must be lacking...

I just pulled the trigger on one of their grey 2-piece modern fit suit. I'll report back with how it turns out. I figure they have a 30 day return policy, so even if it's a piece of junk it's worth a test run.

They claim to use super 140s wool to make their suits. I cannot really believe that claim of theirs. The fabric alone would cost higher than $20-25 a meter or so at wholesale.

I'd like to know where they sourced the wool.
