    Meermin or AE Rutledge

    Guys,

Wanted to see what are your thoughts on this. Looking to add a brown shoe. currently considering either Meermin Linea Mastro 102390 - NATURCALF MARRÓN, or Allen Edmonds Rutledge in brown burnished (factory second sale). Price wise they are about the same. Anyone purchase either one of these? Pics and comments, or suggestions would be appreciated. I specially would like feedback on the Meermins.

I've had my eyes on the Rutledge, but they always seemed a bit pricy to me. They both look nice, however

    FYI incase you'd be interested...

If you rush over to styleforum, the meermin fans are organizing group MTO buys. One of them is that style but with a gorgeous plum museum calf. Since it is MTO, you can customize it further. Monogram, sole color, insole color etc. It's a great price, I think 260 euro before shipping.

The advantage of the AE's is easy returns and accessible customer service if they don't fit well or something goes sideways.

I would pick the Allen Edmonds because it's a known, trustworthy American company.

I like the first pic better since the back doesn't have the baroque to it- looks cleaner. I thought Meermin is a respected English company along the same lines as AE?

ajk170, Meermin is a Spanish company. All of their shoes are made in China and finished in Spain. I specified that all their shoes are made in China because there's a rumor that the Linea Maestro or MTM shoes are fully made in Spain. That rumor is false.

The Meermin Thread on Styleforum is a good source of information about the company and shoes. Fred on the forums is also a good source since he owns ~4 if I remember correctly.
