  • Help with measurements for Spier & Mackay custom clothes

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone had any guidance on how to measure when ordering custom clothes from Spier & Mackay. I'm looking to order some custom trousers and am unclear where I should measure to make sure each of the requested measurements is accurate. I looked at my Black Lapel measurements, and those are very different than what auto-fills on the Spier site when I select a 38" waist, contemporary fit to start modifying:

  • Suitsupply vs Spier and MacKay Overcoats

    Hey all,

It has come time for me to acquire a new winter overcoat and I am having some trouble choosing. For context, I have had suits from both and loved both. This is less about which is higher quality and more about level of warmth. I live Nova Scotia in Canada and so how warm a coat can keep you is an important factor when choosing. Both Spier and MacKay and SuitSupply make items I'm interested in! From Spier and MacKay, I like the:...

  • SuitSupply vs Oliver Wicks vs Spier and Mackay

Does SS win out because they have physical locations in some major cities? I am learning more about each one as I continue to browse these discussions. I would feel very comfortable going into a physical location and would probably pick SS over some others because of that reason. But if the quality is better with the other ones, then I would venture out to order online. Are they all on the same plane as far as quality? I am a plug and play kind...

  • Anyone have any experience with Spier and Mackay Sportcoats?

I have found almost zero information online regarding fit and quality. They seem to have very good prices on traditionally styled sportcoats, which is hard to find nowadays (I hate the narrow lapels of J Crew, BR, and other similar brands), so I'm wondering if anyone here has tried them or has any info. I'm sure it'd be a benefit to others, not just me!

  • Review of Spier & Mackay Blazer and Flannel Trousers

I appreciate people having written reviews of clothes that I am looking to buy, and with that in mind I thought it was time to contribute back with specific comments on a couple of items I have acquired recently. They are both from Spier & Mackay, a vendor that has certainly been mentioned here on Dappered, but for which there are not nearly the number of comments as there are for bigger brands.

I’m no fashion writer, just a...

    Spier and Mackay Shirts Review

A couple of months ago a dappered member posted a question about Spier and Mackay. There was limited information online about them but a few posts on SF forum were positive about their experiences. I made a purchase during a promotion in March and decided to write up a review since they have such little presence in online blogs and forums. I've included a referral link at the end of the write-up, but feel free to ignore it.
