    Fit of leather gloves

Lets get the obvious out of the way, "it should fit like a glove."

Do these gloves look large for my hand? My hand size is a 7.8", measured around at widest part of hand, and these are small (7 1/2-8"). The tips of my fingers do reach the tip of the glove's fingers.

If you want something better fitting, I'd recommend unlined gloves. I have the pair from Dents that Bond used in Skyfall. I've worn them almost daily since the end of November. Insulation requirements may vary based on geographical location of course.

These are cashmere lined. We are in the same location, NY. Wouldn't unlined not be as warm as lined?

Correct, unlined is not as warm. I have a pair of cashmere lined gloves sitting around, but reserved for extremely cold days. I prefer the dexterity afforded by the unlined gloves whenever possible as the warmth provided by the lined gloves makes for a clumsy effort when rummaging through pockets for keys, etc.

More opinions, are they okay fit wise for lined gloves?

Gloves are supposed to fit pretty snug, but not so much that you can't move your hand like you normally would. Do you think there is too much room in the finger tips? And how is the the fit across the palm?

There isn't room in the finger tips. My fingers reach the end of the tips. The issue is across the palm and on top. I make a fist there is excess on top and and same in the palm. If I shake my hand hard three times, my fingers come out of the finger tips and my palm is displaced. Not so much that the glove falls off but is in the process. If that makes any sense. Its not what I would call snug.

Maybe try a size down and see how that works?

Not possible these are the smallest they have, small for sizes 7.5"-8". My gloves size measured is a 7.8" so theoretically they should have fit. Guess it is best to just return them.

For gloves, it's honestly not that expensive to just go bespoke. Chester Jefferies will make you custom gloves and for an extra one time fee of £20 they will make a pattern from your hand tracing. I haven't gotten anything for myself yet (although my next pair certainly will be from them) but I gave my mom some bespoke gloves from them last xmas and they really turned out amazing.

Just for comparison, black deerskin with rabbit fur lining Dents are $185: http://www.nomanwalksalone.com/index.../#shopproducts
From Chester Jefferies you can get black deerskin with rabbit fur lining for £60 + £20 bespoke fee (1 time) + £5 shipping for a total of £85 ($140ish): http://www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/sc...?idproduct=166
Plus for any additional or future orders, you won't have that £20 bespoke fee since they already have your pattern.

Should have went that route and saved myself the headache. Didn't since I wanted to spend less than $100 on gloves. These I got on an extreme discount due to store credit.

Not to hijack OP's thread, but question: how are gloves supposed to fit around the wrist? I got a pair of JAB ones that fit me good in the hand but are kind of baggy around my wrist (they don't have a button).
