The lesser of two evils: Lands End winter coat

Looking at this coat: http://www.landsend.com/pp/HoodedDownJacket~212292_59.html?bcc=y&action=order _more&sku_0=::QZ3&CM_MERCH=IDX_Men-_-Outerwear-_-Warmest40to15F&origin=index

There is only the green and the yellow. The green doesn't look bad and I feel like a bright yellow could be "off," but maybe it'd be cool to have a bright jacket for the dark winter.

This is the style that caught my eye and should be able to stand up to a Michigan winter. I don't have a winter coat and I just need to pick something up and I'm not looking to spend much money to keep warm.

So, the lesser of the two evils (colors?) or abort in favor of ______?

What about this instead? There's an extra 20% off with code TWINKLE and pin 4141. http://www.landsend.com/pp/Jacket~22...Sale-_-Men-_-S

BenR - thanks for the suggestion. I like the style and color, but I'm worried the one you posted may not be as warm. The jacket I posted says -30 to -10, although I'm not sure it's *that* warm, but the other jacket doesn't say anything about the fill or have reviews.

Also, thanks for the code, I didn't know they were out there for Lands End, I've been too fixed on Bonobos.

How about this coat from L.L. Bean? They got other goose down and thinsulate options too. I got my eye on their duffel coat (with Thinsulate!) myself as an everyday coat in Chicago.

Of course, the king of down coats is Canada Goose, but suspect that those are out of your budget.

              There's this, too.

Comes in some standard boring parka colors (red, black, navy) and looks as though it will give you a little more coverage than a down jacket. If you're getting a coat specifically for warmth, I would definitely recommend a hooded parka design over a traditional length jacket.
