Guess watch : Faux pas ?

I bought this guess watch on a whim, about 6 months ago. the more I wear it, the more I find it clumsy, big, too formal for everyday life.

At first I was shopping for a military watch but i couldn't find anything locally with a striped nylon band and a small box.

    (I'm 18 and I have small wrists.)

What's your opinion on the watch, is it in, or out ?

I don't like big watches myself. I try to get the thinnest watches I can find. A watch face that big tends to make me look like a child. From your pic, the face is nearly as wide as your wrist is.

Since there are clocks on cell phones, most people don't wear watches anymore except in more formal situations, which as an 18 year old, you probably don't find yourself in too often.

I agree with run_me_down that this watch is too big for your wrist, but I do like the styling of the watch itself. I disagree in that people don't wear watches anymore due to cell phones. Watches are still very much in style and are worn in informal and formal situations alike. I actually think that yours is fairly informal. A better example of a formal watch would be something like this: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/2/...priced-an.html. If you reply back with a price range I can give you some options for military watches. The wristband you can easily change out.

Citizen Eco-Dive BM8180-03E - Mineral crystal but 37mm wide, which would be much better for your wrist size. Comes with the canvas strap too.
