Friday Challenge 10/11 - 50 Shades of Grey

No, not the salacious, sex-filled best selling book (or soon to be movie), I'm continuing to find inspiration for the weekly challenge in the colors in nature - but instead of the vivid colors of autumn we played with last week, this week is looking rather rainy and dreary. So, show us how you can put together a stylish ensemble composed of AT LEAST 2 of the 50 Shades of Grey (or gray, whatever), although anyone who has shopped for grey wall paint knows there are far more than 50! This week's inspirational image (oh yeah, no black&white or grayscale images!):

    The usual rules:

1.) A challenge is proposed (typically on a Monday, unless the poster is a slacker, in which case the wee hours of Tuesday morning will just have to suffice).
2.) Ideas are bounced around throughout the week, any questions are codified, and guidelines are put into place.
3.) On Friday (or before), everyone dresses according to the challenge's parameters.
4.) On Saturday, all challengers are recorded and voting opens to see who best represents the challenge.
5.) A winner is chosen by majority vote on Sunday, and the winner is responsible for choosing the next week's challenge.

Hmmm... I did 50 shades of green today, but I should be able to come up with something for this challenge.

This wasn't going to be a challenge entry, just a day off from work WIWT, but hey, there's some grey peeking out on the shirt and of course the shoes and socks.

                Looking good gentlemen!

This is what I wore today although I might wear grey again the next 2 days and then have to decide on which one to go with as my entry.

I decided to go simple/classic with todays outfit. Blazer has a herringbone design on it that's hard to see in the pics. It's a charcoal color and the pants are a light grey.

                  shirt - JCrew
                  pants - Bonobos
                  shoes - RL by C&J
                  blazer - JCrew

Not quite 50 - more like 5 Shades of Grey for casual friday:

My wife asked, "aren't you going to add some color?" I looked out the window (at the dark rain clouds and dreary weather), and said "nah, not feeling it today." Its really nasty out.

                          Jacket: BR grey tweed
                          Shirt: Gustin grey OCBD
                          Tie: AE charcoal wool
                          Jeans: JCrew
                          Socks: Uniqlo grey stripe
                          Shoes: Converse JP grey herringbone
                          PS: Vintage bandanna

                            That oughta get interesting.
One of best shows in last few years, that is for sure.

Yesssssssss. By the way, nice call on the name last week. I need to grow a giant beard to fit in with academic culture anyway, so I might go ahead and adopt the look in its entirety.
