I'm very tempted. I'm going to continue to search for something similar in a slightly darker shade but those ones definitely have my eye. Thanks for recommendation either way.

Yeah a more chestnut tan is harder to pull off the first time around. It was the best shape and quality shoe I found for around $150. I will say, not as versatile as a rich medium brown, but few shoes look as rockin as a pair of tan/chestnut/walnut wingtips.

greg_s, I'm really liking those J&M shoes. I think that's exactly what I'm looking for... except for that tan color. Anybody know of something similar in a more versatile darker brown color?

The plus of KC is they often have a nice shape. Here is a great looking one from Johnston and Murphy (I've had great luck with a pair of their shoes):

Thanks much, Greg. I was a bit dubious of Kenneth Cole because I thought I had heard mixed reports of them, which is exactly why I steered clear of buying them. I figured there were more options to be found online now that I had something to compare to at least.

Those are definitely some good options and around what I'm looking for. Many thanks. I actually do like the shape of the Marlton a bit more than the others, I think.

Igloeckner, I know many people have had hit or miss experiences with KC shoe quality. The NY line is better than others, but for $110 I would look into some other companies. Have you explored Florsheim yet? They often have sales, and I believe have an ongoing 20% off code that I can't remember but someone here will know.

    A casual brown shoe: http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/12071.html

$136 with 20% off (that I may or may not be making up)

Another more casual one (I've heard good things about these): http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/12084.html

    same price as above

The Martlon here is not my favorite shape, but a bit more dressy: http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/12064.html

    $120

Either way, welcome to the wonderful world of wingtips.

    Looking for my first wingtips

I'm in my mid-20's and am among those transitioning to a more adult style. I've always been a sneaker guy but am ready to make the dive into a "grown-up" shoe and think brown wingtip oxfords fit my style best (also, I don't think the wingtip boots work as well as oxfords for me personally) .

So, I was at DSW today and tried on the wingtips that I could find. There wasn't a large selection but I did seem to like the look/feel of these Kenneth Cole's:

They had a longer toe and I liked the material and the shade of brown. It's listed as cognac on the DSW site (Link) but I'm not sure about that.

Anywho, long story short, I didn't buy them but they at least gave me a starting point for my online search. I'd prefer not to spend Allen Edmonds-type money on these yet because I want to make sure this is a style I'm comfortable with for a year or so first. So, any suggestions for brands or specific shoes to look for online (or even on eBay)?

Help me, Dappered-won-keboni, you're my only hope.
