suit appropriate as the AE dalton?

    I really like these Frye's http://www.thefryecompany.com/produc...gtip?color=DBN
I like that it has a sleek rubber sole for my chicago winters.

Im confident that they would go well with tweed and flannel suits but would it work with a regular wool suit?

I think they are definitely suit appropriate. They are nearly identical to the AE Dalton.

Since those looke like a pebble grain, I would suggest tweeds, cords, denim, hopsack, anything that is a rougher texture but not for a smooth or finer wool. There's a thread on this and a discussion over on another bolg about the dress shoes (boots) and how to wear casually (or in the reverse). The make a specifiec point on pebbel grained nicer wingtips as being a no on wool or smoother/finer fabrics (www.trunkclub.com blogs)

I wouldn't call a lug sole sleek. I'm with ajk on how best to wear them.

Maybe if its November and the suit is made of tweed.
