    Classic Swim suit style

I tried searching through the forum and couldn't find anyone giving a lot of thoughts on the topic of swim shorts - I'm searching for one void of patterns or design, with clean lines, button and zippered fronts and a back pocket. Preferrably with side tabs and no drawstring. Ultimately, I'm trying to find a type that does not "bubble" up in a hot tub (an odd phenomenon that occurs with my Tommy Bahamas- it's like wearing a ballon in a hot tub). I'm really thinking fitted rather than skin tight (brief styles are out) and having done a little research has made me discover there is a whole world in land of surfing, board shorts and European styles - not something that I'm really looking for either. Here's what I've come up with so far: I'm hoping the forum has some input, good or bad, as well as suggestions on others that are out there within this vein. Thanks for the help!

The least expensive: (Navy looks like the best color and the pipping and velcro are ok, seems to set it off as a swim suit but meets the criteria)

Pretty expensive: (The color looks great on the computer and the length looks good too plus zippered back pocket and side tabs. Downside, price and a newcomer so maybe bit of an unknown in sizing)

Seriously??!! Do they come with a vagina?? (seems like the old guard in swim shorts style)

I have a pair from Parke and Ronen with side buttons, but it looks like they have regular side tabs now too. Not cheap, but they are less than the turktrunks and have similar styling to the Orlebar Browns. They do have rotating sales too. I got mine from the NYC store about a year ago when they were clearing out Summer 2011 stuff so it was a pretty good deal. They are a bit vanity sized IMO so I'd order a size down.

Edit: FYI, Barney's carries them too - http://www.barneys.com/on/demandware...arke+%26+ronen

I've always like the look of Birdwell Beach Britches. They lace in the front, but no drawstring. I've never tried them on, so I don't have any input on sizing.

Pretty sure if you're the kind of guy that has $240 to spend on swim trunks, that's already taken care of.

@shomas- I stumbled upon birdwell- they have some different looks

@Fred- those are a good style and length, maybe I'll have to keep what I have for this season and watch for a sale

Lands' End and LEC have some much cheaper options. Probably not the best in the world in terms of quality and fit, but they get the job done and don't look like you're wearing a skirt, like so many modern swim trunk styles.

Thanks to all the suggestions- I went with the Bonobos- mainly due to price since I used the 20% code. I figure if I don't like these I can always go up to the turks or something else. Now I'm onto sunglasses...
