    Scarf Request

As you may know my Girlfriend has been making scarfs of lately And I'm reaping the benefits. She made some pretty kick ass crocheted ones but she also makes basic scarves. Anyways anybody have a good idea for Color/fabric/type of scarf that would be good? Side note: I go back and forth on weather the frills are good or not?

Bonus points: if anyone knows good length and width measurements.

My favorite scarf is a cotton flannel one in gray plaid. It goes with everything, as long I'm not wearing other plaids. Just got an olive green alpaca wool scarf from sierratradingpost.com and I'm really liking it. (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/san...colorFamily=13)

As far as length, I like long ones, though it might be a bit too much for some people. The alpaca wool one I just got is 68" X 8 1/2" and is just the right size for me. If it is less than 60" long you might not be able to wrap it around twice without it looking dumb. Width really depends on how thick the material is. My plaid one is fairly thin, so 13-14" width is a good width for it. The alpaca one is thicker (but by no means bulky) so it would be too much mass at 13 inches. Chunky knit ones might be best at 6" or 7".

Frills are fine, but will start to look fashioney or girly if they are more than 3 or so inches.

Plaids are great for weaving, but I'm not sure how you could knit a plaid. University striped scarves are cool and very popular right now.
