Warby Parker released a number of new frames today. I particularly like the Roark in Amber.

I'm trying to determine how ironic they're supposed to be. I'm imagining it's 33% octogenarians and 67% hipsters buying these.

Haha @ Chareth. I have a co-worker who bought a pair exactly like those. He's in a band.

I bought a pair from WP and from Zenni Optical. I'm actually more impressed with the Zenni pair. Same prescription, but the Zenni lenses seem sharper and have proven to be more scratch resistant and were cheaper. The WP pair are pretty scratched up after 6 months. Still - I like them.

Here's a couple more websites with glasses that are fairly affordable.

http://www.eyefly.com - I've ordered from them before. Bought one pair of glasses that I can wear to work and gym. It's held up pretty well to getting a bit knocked around and sweated on.
http://www.collinsbridge.com - I did the 5-day home trial and I liked a couple of their options. I'll probably order a pair or two from them here in a little bit.

And some other websties that I've had no dealings with but seem to have a good selection
http://www.bonlook.com - good selection of normal and hipster glasses
http://www.mezzmer.com - decent mix of normal and hipster
          http://www.lookmatic.com - mostly hipster-ish
          http://www.classicspecs.com - hipster

One site that can go with stronger prescriptions is coastal.com I have a strong prescription and cannot use most online stores. It is easier for me to go to the optometrist and then look there.

Yeah, they have some doozies. The irony quotient you've cited is probably right with regard to the purchasers. I'm certain I've seen these frames in the wild in Williamsburg Brooklyn. But the sellers are anything but ironic. They've been manufacturing and selling frames for like 80+ years and I think a lot of these frames are just legacy models from the late 70's - mid 80's when there was nothing weird about them at all.

And when you talk to the people at Shuron, you certainly don't hear a lot of irony in their voices.
