A black grenadine tie is a staple in a man's wardrobe. It's a classic tie, and you would be able to use it for the rest of your life. That would be my suggestion.

Can't say I've ever heard of black bridesmaid dresses before. What was the motivation behind that one? They won't even have color ribbons around the waist?

    As for ties,

I would go solid black but I like the 3rd choice out of what you provided.

I like the shepard's check, less black is better. What about bow ties

You can colour it up a bit too with different colour pocket squares as well

A glen plaid or shepherd's check would be more traditional and more appropriate IMO. Something like either of these:

A silver or gray grenadine isn't a bad idea either, but I wouldn't get the "grenafaux" from Tie Bar. Their ties are great for the price but I've seen a couple of negative reviews of their fake grenadine. If you want a real grenadine at a great price, check out Paul Winston of Winston Tailors in NYC at http://www.grenadineties.com/ (http://www.chipp2.com/ is his other site) They are handmade in NYC for $47.50 + $7.50 shipping.

I like the the 3rd one you linked, however, it does sound like you run the risk of having a kind of dreary looking weeking. I was recently at a wedding in which the groomsmen ties were in the same color family as the bridesmaids flowers and it ended up looking really good. Perhaps you could consider that

Bridesmaids in my wedding all wore black as well and pictures turned out incredibly well. I personally think its a very classic combination that stands the test of time. With that in mind I would avoid going with "skinny" ties for a formal wedding party. Based on the info you noted, I like this one:

    Groomsmen ties

    Hi guys,

Time to decide on ties for the wedding and I need your help. The bridesmaids are all dressed in black (despite my suggestion that it might look like a funeral - luckily they have colourful flowers). My groomsmen will be in mid-grey suits, white shirts and black shoes. To go with all this I'm thinking these for the 4 groomsmen:

My suit will be a different shade of grey and I was thinking either of these:

    Thoughts? Criticisms?
