    Merino Wool T-Shirts (Travel)

Anyone have experience with merino wool t-shirts like the following:

    Smartwool:

    http://www.rei.com/product/785073/

    Icebreaker:

    http://icebreaker.com/Tech-T-Lite/IB...r=D34&start=4&

(BTW, the homepage for brand above - not my link - has a questionably NSFW image on front page showing half-naked woman riding a minotaur?)

Looking to get some for traveling as they don't wrinkle, wick moisture, and minimize body odor. I have a no-name shirt that is magical. I want to get some more, maybe even some ribbed crews that are acceptable to wear with slacks if necessary. Would also like to pay less than $50 (it's a t shirt!) and not look like a hunter, but I will take what I can get.

    Any opinions?

    My Measurements: 6' 1" height, 35" sleeves, 41-42" chest/jacket, 35" waist, 34" inseam, 11.5D/EEE shoes, 200 lbs

    #2

I had some Icebreaker merino underwear for a while (until I got sloppy and the moths got to it... grumble grumble, enter the use of cedar in my closets and drawers). I liked it a lot while it lasted, except for the price of course.

If you've got the spare cash, I don't think it's a horrible idea to own one or two merino t-shirts to use for travel, backpacking, etc.

Backcountry.com's proprietary brand, Stoic, has a merino t-shirt with a few colors on sale for $38.50. http://www.backcountry.com/stoic-mer...rt-sleeve-mens
