I like these shoes but if I buy them will they be too feminie? Will I get bashed by my buddies?

i've found myself wondering the same thing. i think as long as you don't wear them with skinny jeans/anything else that might be seen as "metro" they'd be fine, especially in black/dark solids.

A guy at my office has a white pair that he wears 2-3 times a week. He got busted on pretty hard the first couple weeks, but everybody's let up on him now. However, there's a girl at the office who has the exact same pair of shoes.

I'm getting a pair. I'll let you know how it goes.

You can only really wear these with shorts, IMO.

I appreciate the ideology behind Toms but not the execution. They look terribly ugly for anything other than house slippers to me.

I own a pair and I think they look fine. They are a nice changeup from other casual shoes. Though, I think you should be confident with what you wear. If you're worried about people cracking on you then go with something you're more comfortable with.

I own two pairs. I don't wear them all the time but they're very comfortable. Stick with dark solid colors (no sparkles lol) and you should be fine.

I like the philosophy behind Toms, but I prefer a more traditional espadrille. I recently bought these from Aldo

They're very comfortable and have become my go-to shoes for shorts days.

I have a pair in grey, and I really like them. I have gotten a few gibes about them from my friends, but I have grown accustomed to all sorts of comments about my attire. I actually refer to them as unisex ballet flats. It seems that people who are familiar with them do not think of them as feminine.

I usually wear them with slim-to-skinny jeans when I am going for a very casual look. There is not much to them, so I think they look weird under any pants with a wide leg opening.

They run small, so expect to go a half to full size up. I'm normally a narrow size 10, and my 10.5 Toms are definitely on the small side.

Not my cup of tea, but I would also stick with dark solid colors, avoid skinny jeans and keep it shorts/casual only. Plan on getting some flack from your beer drinking buddies.

i personally wouldnt buy them. IMO, they do come off as something my niece would wear. If your think you can pull it off, go for it, but please be prepared for the onslaughts of "try too hard" and are you "OK"

I have a pair and extremely comfortable. I took a poll with my female friends and most said that they didnt see a problem with them.

I own a couple pairs of these... As everyone else has said they are super comfortable. I tend to wear them with slim fitting chinos and such because they are pretty narrow and would look odd with wider pant legs. Much like any other part of wardrobe, the key is confidence to pull them off.

I've really never caught any flack for wearing them. In fact, one of my friends refers to them as my 'kung fu' shoes- given their similarity to the sort of shoes Bruce Lee wore often. And we all know how manly Bruce was!

ugh those toms make me cringe. soon as the link opened i had to jump to shut it down. seriously? really? people here like those?

the aldos, otoh, are pretty cool, kind of beatnik surfer cafe-coffee-sipping sort of maybe.

one of the differences is in the opening. the toms just exposes too much man foot, like it's something to be ooh'd and ahh'd over. i don't think so.

anyway, that's how i see it.
