    Florsheim longwings: Haviland or Veblen?

Looking for some casual wing tips I can use to 'dress up' my WWM "Hoover" Pants. I know the Veblen is "the standard" for this sort of thing, and the Haviland is the new kid on the block, but I'm a big fan of the CrazyHorse leather on the Haviland. Can anybody comment on one vs the other?

I don't see a lot of difference in the styling of the 2... The main differences are the materials. The Haviland look like a sturdier build with the rubber spikeless cleat sole and the tougher CH or suede outer. I like both, so it would depend on how / where you plan to wear them.

Yeah, it depends on the situation you plan on wearing them. They both look about the same from the top so "dressiness" is not the situation so much as weather conditions. The leather sole on the Veblen isn't going to be great in wet or icy conditions. The rubber role of the Haviland will be much better. But if you plan on wearing the Haviland in rain or snow, I would strongly recommend going with one of the smooth leather options rather than the suede, as leather is much easier to protect from the elements.
