    Good Value Brown Dress Shoes

    Hey all,

Long time listener, first time caller.

I'm looking for a second pair of dress shoes to agument my medium brown cap-toe Oxfords - preferrably an Oxford or brogue, and I really like perferration like on AR Strands. BUT, I don't have $335 bucks sitting around for them. $120 is probably all I can spend.

What are some of the best deals around for classic, yet still a bit trendy, dress shoes?

If these are ever in stock again, they'd be a good bet: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/giorgio+brut...?prodId=246563

Runs a little long and the medallion isn't nearly as nice as the AE Strands (a little clumsy looking in comparison) but I still like them.

      Under $200 - http://dappered.com/2012/05/the-best...s-under-200-2/
      Under $125 - http://dappered.com/2011/11/the-best...toe-under-125/

I also can't say enough good things about buying shoes on ebay. Of the last 4 shoes I have bought three were from ebay. All were AEs and all were well under $125.

          Thanks for the links.

I've looked at those Giorgio Brutinis (which sounds like a weird Italian martini) before. Looks like I should have pulled the trigger.

For Ebay, are there any other brands I should seek out besides AE? I know they are the pinnacle, but are there others in that range?

Alex, vintage Floreishm Royal Imperials are worth a look on ebay. I love the ones I just picked up.

I'm in the same boat. Long time lurker, and looking for some best value for about the amount. I found some options that appear to be decent and at good prices. Can anyone speak to the quality of these?

What are your thoughts on these Ben Sherman shoes?

I really like the idea of Ben Sherman but haven't had a lot of luck with their clothing.

If you're like me and don't like buying used shoes.... try the JCrew Preston wing tips or bluchers. Some around here don't like them, but they're goodyear welted, comfortable and have a classic American oxford shape.

They're $225 at JCrew, but you can get them new for $120 - $140 at ebay.
