    JCF quilted vest

After reading the forum and dappered.com I finally decided to make an account. I am in the market for a vest and I'm kinda liking the Jcrew factory quilted layering vest.

    http://factory.jcrew.com/mens-clothi...7752/47752.jsp

Does anyone here have any experience with this vest or something similar? I know its just a layering vest, but do you think it would serve me well in mild winters (DC)? Also, are there any better alternatives (maybe navy) in this price range? I'm a college student who is going abroad next year and can't spend too much.

    Thanks for your help

Not sure what you may consider "better" alternatives but some alternatives (and other general advice) have been offered in other threads related to the JCF vest:

I own this vest in Olive from JCF, but I also own the Jcrew crew Barbour Black/Blue version: http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/o...bf97mMNvyGX*BA

The JCF version is not the same quality or as slim as the Barbour version but I only paid $40 vs $118.

I tried on the JCF in store because I liked it online and I ended up not buying it. Just didnt fit as slim as my LE down vest and I wasn't crazy about how it looked once I put it on.

I own the JCF vest and love it- think it's great as a layering piece (over a buttondown/under a blazer), but as outerwear it likely wouldn't work in anything other than cool temperatures.
