    Versitile blue suit

    Gents,
I am looking to purchase a new suit. I have a charcoal suit, and 2 Formal Navy blazers and one navy hopsack. Hoping for a medium blue. Also love the look of this orphaned jacket with light grey pants, and would plan to switch out the pants on occasion.

Which of these would be the best match to the pants and the most versatile? Really much difference? Input on sharkskin?

I might recommend buying one of those suits and then finding a medium blue sport coat to wear with odd trousers of all colors. The orphaned suit coat thing is not really an optimal look, but maybe that's just me. Having a medium blue sport coat would highly useful, for years.

I have that indigo sharkskin suit from Spier from a few years ago and absolutely love it. Its extremely versatile. The color is dark enough to work in more formal settings. You could easily wear it to an interview as a stand in for a navy suit. Yet its light enough that it stands out when up against a sea of other navy suits. Its also not an obnoxious electric blue that seems really popular now but IMO will look dated in 10 years. Its easily my most worn suit. That said, I wouldn't wear the jacket or the other option you've linked to with a pair of odd trousers. The shoulders are soft construction for a suit but they're still structured enough that it would stand out as an orphaned jacket. You already have a few navy blazers so why not just wear those?

Thanks Guys. I was thinking a brighter blue jacket would match the grey pants better, but will try it with my darker navy ones. Think I will go with the sharkskin option. Cheers
