i have no answer for that question. i agree i picked up 2 ties and a tie bar from there a few days ago for less than 50 bucks. and they have a really wide selection, plus they have a bunch of new ones out now that are pretty sweet. if you haven't been on the site recently its worth another look

Shhhhh, don't tell everybody or they will raise their prices

I have a bunch of weddings to go to this year, I can't wait to pick out different ties and pocket squares for each one. I think their business model is a great one, now if they would just add socks...

As much as I love the Tie Bar, I really wish they would offer ties in more widths, like 2.75" and 3"

I'm 5'10" and really thin, so 2.5" feels a bit too narrow and 3.5" feels like I'm on Wall Street

You know, I've known about The Tie Bar for years and have never ordered anything from them. How do their ties hold up over time?

I've had one of their knit silk ties, as well as a regular silk tie and bowtie for about a year now, and they seem to be doing great. not outstanding in any way, but I would say that they're at or above regular department store ties.

I'm a huge fan of knit ties and they are not easy to find locally. The tie bar has an amazing selection!

They actually make some 3" ties now (e.g., http://www.thetiebar.com/order_page.asp?pn=22749). Finding them can be a pain because they have not updated the interface since they added them a couple of months ago. They are listed under Skinny Ties, but some of the skinny ties are 2.5", some are 3", and some are available as both. You have to look at the product page to see the widths.

The ties hold up great, great quality. Don't look for any fancy inlay or touches of love like you would with a more expensive tie. But I'm a huge fan of the basics.

I just got a few of their ties in the mail yesterday - definitely pleased with the quality at the price point. They are damn thick though - anyone else notice that?
