How do you embed pics from your hardrive in a thread/post?

Sadly, couple step process:


1. Upload the pic to somewhere online (I HIGHLY recommend imgur.com for speed of use)


2. Grab the image URL that includes the .png or .jpeg


3. Paste it inside these quotes (but remove the quotes)

A bit archaic, honestly.

Basically, as he said, it has to be hosted somewhere else first online. The url can then be embedded with tags to display it in a post here.

If you use imgur (and probably many others, too) you can edit the image, resize it to be smaller, and then post it. I've been slapping up gigantic images of myself until this last week, when I finally figured that out.
