For those who like a non-symmetrical knot but realize the four-in-hand simply does not fill that space on a spread collar, try the Cavendish knot. It is a larger four-in-hand knot. It does a much better job of filling that space on a spread collar.

I like spread collars a lot but they do require a bigger knot.

I don't have a side-by-side, but I have tried both, and the you are right, the spread is reeeealy spread. You would probably need a full Windsor to fill it out. Spread collars are not my thing though so YMMV.

    Jcrew Point vs Spread Collars

Has anyone compared these side by side or have a picture with either of them on an actual person (or mannequin) buttoned up to the top with a tie tightened? Every picture on the jcrew site has them folded as if on a shelf with a tie around it but unbuttoned! When they display it like this, the point collar looks like a semi-spread and the spread looks reeeeeally spread. Anyone want to help a brother out overseas out? Can't just walk into a jcrew and check :/

Working...
