Looks like something Fridtjof Nansen would wear. But in a good way!

Second photo to show the blue in the cords.

      Coat: jcrew Dock peacoat
      Pants: Jomers cord trousers
      Sweater: BR
Shoes: AE-- these get a ton of wear this time of year since they have a Dainite sole and we often have pretty cold and snowy winters.

                        Holiday party attire:

Recently on a tweed blazer thread, someone had said that grey-on-grey wasn't too tough to do. In retrospect, I'm not sure there was enough contrast.

Grey-on-grey is tricky, especially with the lighter grey on top. You do want more contrast.

In truth I feel like with this sport coat in particular, it might just be a better idea to go with a different color like a blue/navy, brown, or if you are feeling adventurous a burgundy or hunter green trouser.

It's not bad really and to most everyone it probably looks fine , it works, but something seems just off with the combo.

Great fit though. And I'm not a fan of red, but i really like that tie you got.

I definitely agree. I do indeed have chinos in navy, caramel, and hunter green and I think they all would have produced an overall better look. For this event, chinos would have been a little too casual, and the dark grey ones in the photo are the only real trousers I have. I knew it was iffy; I was just pretty dead set on pulling that blazer out as it's new (to me) and seemed seasonally appropriate. I look forward to wearing it with jeans/chinos in the future.

I'm with others on this.....although the blazer looks nice/fitting with that red tie, there is just something not right with the pants combo.
