I can't get too dappered up at work, for obvious reasons. In other words I don't wear anything that I would mind getting totally destroyed.

          Today:

J Crew sweater, Polo shirt, J Crew chinos, Wolverine 1000K boots

I don't think you'd regret picking a pair up. I find olive green chinos/trousers to be quite versatile, while at the same time not as commonly worn, in my experience.

On that note, I wore some green trousers today, rather than chinos and dressed it up a little. Jacket is a bit snug with the sweater, but I don't mind it, aesthetically speaking. I wish the very subtle glen check pattern on the shirt could be see in the photos, though.

Nice look, man. I wish I could wear all those layers. I'm hot-natured as hell; I can barely wear a tie without overheating.

Me if I wore your outfit:

I'm in a similar boat (totally different job though) and wear wingtip boots, jeans, button down, sweater pretty much constantly. You're doing it right.

Functionality has to come first in some situations, like yours. I think you've done well within the confines.

You put any half-soles on those boots? I have the exact same pair and I had some put on mine. I never wanted to wear leather-soled shoes when I was on the job.

A bit late in checking this thread but this to me is why I love this forum and the importance of pulling together a complete look. This well put together outfit represents someone you would trust to represent you and work with. Contrast that to any of the lawyers you saw in Netflix's Making A Murderer.

                                Well done.
