Originally posted by Matchbook View PostI actually really like this. The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the tie. Obviously, just my tastes, but I feel like it's a bit too matchy-matchy with the pants and the jacket, in both texture and color. I would opt for something else earth tone-y, like maybe a brown knit or something. That, and the knot is a bit big and bulky for that collar. I feel like a 4IH or some other smaller, non-symmetrical knot would look really good here. Otherwise, very nice.
I just received my shipment of Berg & Berg ties, so more dressed up pics incoming.
For now, this has been my daily uniform. Cold weather is cold..

LesserBlackDog - I am a fan of the green tie with blue shirt. I remember undergrad where every guy seemed to wear a blue shirt and yellow tie which I cannot do anymore because of that memory.
Matchbook - This fit makes me want some green pants. I think I have just wanted something else green in my wardrobe other than a couple ties.

I'm a fan of the pattern combo here, as it doesn't come off as the focus of the look but rather is cohesive. In the spirit of giving some constructive criticism, I feel a bit of disconnect between the super spread collar and shiny silk PS to the larger weave(grenadine grossa?) and matte of the tie (and less so the suit having patch pockets). Probably totally works with some monks or something equally straddling the line between formal business attire and more casual leanings. Also not a terribly big fan of the orange PS with an otherwise blue dominated look, despite the color combos being a nice complementary pairing -- as a Longhorn, I may just be averse to any brighter oranges than burnt orange.
