Anyway, I'm posting about today's outfit because I finally dumped that cheap-o Dickies belt in favor of a higher quality, made-in-USA belt and wanted to show it off. The brand is Silver Creek:

And I'm also wearing different boots -- Red Wing 1155s (with Dan Post Cowboy Certified boot socks underneath). I wanted to show them off too:
I've literally never liked a pair of Red Wings before... but now I may need those.

Concert last night. A regular necktie with a tux is probably some kind of faux pas but the dress code encouraged "holiday flair" and this was the best I could come up with.

It's warm in Texas, so I'm wearing linen in December. How nice.
JCP Stafford Wool/Linen SC, Charles Tyrwhitt shirt, Tie Bar tie & square, Orient watch, JCP Stafford pants, Dockers derbies because it's not just hot, it's also wet and these are my beaters.

A necktie, notch lapels, AND a watch?! So many broken rules!

All right, I admit it's not the most flattering photo of me . . .

Tux is great too. Like it or not, the Notch Lapel tux is very modern and very common. I'm not hung up on the "Peak or Shawl" are the only kind of tux's to wear...
Granted they look more formal, but IMO the Notch is the most versatile for occasional wear.
