It's actually black. Not my first choice but I like it.

I just re-read my "million jackets" comment. It came out kind of douchey. I have 4 jackets in varying degrees of formality. It's probably as many (or fewer) as anyone else except that the weather doesn't necessitate it so it feels like a million.
@JC: My mom had a matching set of mustard yellow hard case American Tourister luggage when I was growing up. Fond memories of family trips with that stuff. :-)
@CJJ: Thanks. I'm a hobbyist photographer, and my wife may soon be going pro so we have good camera equipment in the house, but I'm always too lazy to use it for these WIWT pics. I always end up using my crummy camera phone and just emailing them to myself so I don't have to fiddle with memory cards. So thanks for attempting to see beyond the fuzz and the blown-out flash. :-) To answer your question, it's the same suit, but the shirt and sweater were a fall-back plan when I didn't find the tie. It's just as well, though. We went to an expensive restaurant ($150 tab), but it's got a pretty casual vibe. Lots of people in $200+ jeans. I was already the only person in a suit so I probably would have looked goofy with the tie.

@ Alan, I feel your "goofy with the tie comment". I live in San Diego where if you a wear a blazer and are not going to work or a formal event you are considered "odd man out". They wife and I went out the other day and wore a tie and blazer to the movies and drinks afteward. Ackward glances came my way for sure but what ya' gonna do.

@ technojinn - Looks great. I'm especially impressed by how perfectly your shirt and jacket sleeves fit you - you're showing just the right amount of shirt sleeve. Like JC said, the button stance on the jacket seems a little high, but it may just be the angle of the picture as well.
@ Alan - That blazer fits you great - my only quibble is that I like to see a little more contrast between a sportcoat and trousers so that it doesn't start to border on suit territory. But maybe they are easier to tell apart IRL and it's just the pic.

@BenR: The jacket and pants are tonally very similar, but the pants are browner whereas the jacket is greyer. Plus the pants are plaid where the jacket is herringbone. Yeah, it's hard to pick up from the picture, but there's a difference.
I know what you mean about "suit territory", though. I've got a friend who picks on me for being all dressy in my suits and then he wears a sportcoat that's virtually identical to his pants. :-)
